I have been making my own oboe reeds for years now and I can finally say I’m really getting the hang of it. It can be majorly frustrating, but a skill worth learning. The solid brass Chiarugi staples I have been using over the past few months have really helped - no longer do I have to gingerly pry a reed from my oboe because the cork was too tight.
